Dracaena Sanderiana, famous as lucky bamboo, is a little bundle of good fortune. Her slim green stems with fresh white-edged leaves bring a calm, zen-like touch to any small spot. According to tradition she brings luck and positive energy into the home, and either way she certainly brings easy greenery. A charming baby green friend, perfect as a gift or a small everyday joy.
Your lucky bamboo is wonderfully flexible: she grows in soil but also simply in a vase of water. In soil, keep her lightly moist with a weekly splash; in water, refresh it every week and make sure the roots stay covered. Give her a bright spot without direct sun, which can scorch her delicate leaves. She prefers filtered or rainwater, as she is sensitive to chlorine and fluoride. Feed very lightly in spring and summer, and keep her away from nibbling pets.

Dracaena plants are incredibly popular as houseplants worldwide. The ones you'll see most often are Dracaena Marginata and Dracaena Fragrans. You might also know them by other names, like Corn Plant, Dragon Tree, or Cornstalk Dracaena. What's really fun about these plants is that they look like tiny trees.
The word Dracaena comes from the Ancient Greek word Drakaina, meaning "female dragon". With about 120 recognised species, the Dracaena family is not particularly large. This family is native to Africa, South Asia, northern Australia and Central America.
