The Aglaonema Red Zircon is a little firework of a houseplant, with deep green leaves generously brushed in warm red and pink tones. Every new leaf unfurls with its own unique pattern, so your plant keeps surprising you. Like all Chinese evergreens, it combines those show-stopping colours with a wonderfully easygoing character. It even tolerates a spot with less light, though the red glows brightest in bright, indirect light. Perfect for adding a warm accent to a shelf or sideboard. Colour lovers, this one has your name on it.
Your Aglaonema is wonderfully low-maintenance and even forgives a spot with less light, although its leaf markings stay most vivid in bright, indirect light. Water every other week and let the top of the soil dry out in between, as soggy roots are its only real enemy. Normal room humidity is fine, though an occasional misting keeps the foliage extra glossy. Plant it in a well-draining potting mix and repot every two years. Feed monthly in spring and summer with diluted plant food. Keep it away from cold draughts and temperatures below 15 degrees, as this tropical beauty likes it warm. One thing to remember: the leaves are toxic when nibbled, so keep curious pets at a distance.

The Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen) is part of the Araceae family and originates from tropical areas of Southeast Asia. There are more than 50 recognised varieties of Aglaonema with endless variation in leaf colour and shape. Most Aglaonema’s are green with white or greyish colours, but there are also variations with pink or purple colours. The leaves usually have a marbled or mottled pattern.
